It’s really just a formality: the general meeting of a tennis club somewhere in provincial Germany is supposed to vote on the purchase of a new barbecue for the next club party. Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem – if it weren’t for the suggestion to also finance a separate barbecue for the club’s only Turkish member. As is well known, devout Muslims are not allowed to put their grilled sausages on a grill that has been used for pork. A well-intentioned idea that brings atheists and believers, Germans and Turks, do-gooders and hardliners into direct conflict – disrespectful and incredibly funny. It quickly becomes clear to everyone that this is about much more than a barbecue…
