Robert Marciniak studied Business Management and moved into film early on: from 1994 to 2002 he was an authorised officer at Constantin Film AG, where he was instrumental in the company’s successful IPO and in financing numerous cinema and television films. As CEO, he also headed its subsidiaries ENGRAM Pictures GmbH and Ratpack Filmproduktion GmbH.
In November 2002 he became CEO and producer of die film GmbH; since July 2010 he has been CEO and producer of Munich-based Lieblingsfilm GmbH.
A member of the German and European Film Academies since 2007, Robert Marciniak has been nominated several times for the German Film Award. In 2015 his feature film The Pasta Detectives won the German Film Award, and in 2018 the international co-production The Keeper received the Producer’s Prize (Best Production) at the Bavarian Film Award.
His most recent productions include two notable successes: the comedy The Holy Grill (Extrawurst), directed by Marcus H. Rosenmüller, one of the most successful German comedies in recent years with over 2 million admissions, and the arthouse film Time We Lost (Dann passiert das Leben), directed by Neele Leana Vollmar; both combine artistic ambition with broad appeal.
