Philipp Budweg

After graduating from the LMU Munich with an MA in German Studies and Art History, he founded the film production company schlicht und ergreifend together with Johannes Schmid.

He received the VGH stipend for young producers and won the VGH-Award for Best New Producer at the Bavarian Film Awards in 2004 for AUS DER TIEFE DES RAUMES.

After producing the short films FLÜGELFLEISCH and MERLE, Budweg cooperated with Kinderfilm GmbH on Johannes Schmid’s debut feature film BLÖDE MÜTZE! in 2006. Further, he also produced the graduation films DIE KURVE (2002), GEFÜHLTE TEMPERATUR (2004), VIER FENSTER (2005), HINTER DEN DÜNEN (2008) and TOTEM (2009) in co-operation with the HFF Munich.

schlicht und ergreifend was re-launched as Lieblingsfilm GmbH in 2008. It now has the producers Robert Marciniac, Thomas Blieninger and Philipp Budweg as well as the authors/directors Johannes Schmid (Blöde Mütze!, Wintertochter) and Marcus H. Rosenmüller (Wer früher stirbt ist länger tot) at its heart.

Philipp Budweg became a member of the German and the European Film Academies.
