Marcus H. Rosenmüller

Director / Author

Born in 1973 in Tegernsee, Rosenmüller studied at the University of Television and Film Munich, Department of Film and Television from 1995 to 2002.

His breakthrough came with the feature film “Wer früher stirbt ist länger tot.” He not only directed this film, but also co-wrote the script together with Christian Lerch. It was a great success at German box offices and won several well-respected awards. Among them the ‘Förderpreis Deutscher Film’, the German Film Award in the category of Best Director as well as the Bavarian Film Award in the category Best Newcomer Director.

He began work on the successful Tandern trilogy in 2006 with „Beste Zeit.“ After filminsg „Beste Gegend“, he shot the concluding part, „Beste Chance“ in Upper Bavaria and India in 2013.

Rosenmüller has realised a total of ten feature films between 2006 and 2014.

His second passion besides film is the stage and he tours Germany together with the composer Gerd Baumann, performinsg their poems.

In 2014, Rosenmüller was given the Ernst Hoferichter-Preis which is an award presented by the City of Munich to authors who show “authenticity as well as humour and a cosmopolitan attitude” in their work. He also received the silver Bavarian Constitution Medal.
